1 Corinthians 1
Knowledge is never enough, obey!
Read 1 Corinthians 1. Which part of 1 Corinthians 1 inspires you the most?
  1. Division of the Church: “I appeal to you...that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought” 1 Cor. 1:10. Though we form small groups and fellowships in church, we need to be aware of cliques and divisions. Try to spend the first five minutes after worship or any church gathering to mingle with people with whom you are not familiar and get to know them. Don’t worry about catching up with your friends, they’ll be there; and you could still meet up with your close friends afterwards. Even better, you could share this “5-minute mingle” idea with your “clique” and have them practice it together; and you will soon find that your church will become much warmer. [Of course, we may not be able to practice this “mingling idea” during the Shelter in Place period, but we could still call or text other brothers and sisters who are in need to care for them (especially the seniors and those families with little kids). Try forming a “Caring Network” with other brothers and sisters to care for those who are in need.]

  2. Wisdom of the Gospel: God has chosen many who are not wise by human standard, influential, or of noble birth (v.26ff), but make Christ our righteousness, holiness and redemption (v.30). Reflect upon how God has lifted you up to become the person you are right now. Write down your “spiritual Journey” and record His goodness. Try to boast in the Lord and share it with someone.

  3. Your own insight: (fill in yourself)

Meditation and Application: Meditate on the above questions along with the necessary actions.

  1. Try to spread the idea of the “5-minute mingle” and practice that in the coming weeks. [During Shelter in Place, try writing down some names or families that need to be cared for, and start contacting and caring for them in the coming weeks.]

  2. Thank God for His tender loving care for you throughout your life journey.
