Rev. Walter Lau was born in Macau and was raised in Hong Kong. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and Lord of his life when he was 12; and came to the U.S. when he was 19. Walter graduated from U.C. Berkeley with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and worked for 4 years in the Silicon Valley as a hardware Computer Engineer. After that, he went to Dallas Theological Seminary in Texas for his seminary education. He graduated with a ThM (Master of Theology) in 1990, and later received his DMin (Doctor of Ministry) from Talbot School of Theology in 2012. Walter has been serving in Cumberland Presbyterian Chinese Church in San Francisco Chinatown since 1990, ministering to youths, College students, Young Adults, and married couples; and is now the Senior Pastor of that church. Pastor Walter has been married to Ada for 29 years, and has two lovely daughters, Jonie and Nadia. He is also a certified couples leader for the Marriage Enrichment Retreat of Chinese Family for Christ, and a certified Evangelism Explosion trainer.
