1 Corinthians 3
Your ministry could be valuable and enduring, be a smart builder!
Read 1 Corinthians 3. Which part of 1 Corinthians 3 inspires you the most?
  1. Our Different Roles in Ministry: Paul has used four different analogies — a nursing mother (3:2), a servant (3:5), a farmer (3:6, 9), and a builder (3:10ff). What role do you think you prefer to take in the ministry? Why? If none of the above images fits you, pick another analogy to illustrate your preference. What church ministry would you like to get involved now? Why?

  2. Our Quality of Ministry: We could build with gold, silver, costly stones (durable, beautiful, and valuable); or wood, hay or straw (combustible, temporary, and cheap). What kind of attitudes, motives, or methods would you consider as “gold, silver, and costly stones”; and what would you consider as “wood, hay, and straw”? Evaluate your involvement in the church or in the ministries, list ways that you could improve the quality of your “building.”

  3. Your own insight: (fill in yourself)

Meditation and Application:

Meditate on the above questions along with the necessary actions. Try to talk with your church leaders and see in what way that you could get involved in the ministry. Also, work on the areas that could help you improve the quality of your “building” and evaluate it once a month or so.
