1 Peter 4
Love deeply, serve faithfully, and trust unconditionally!
Which part of 1 Peter 4 inspires you the most?
  1. Christlike Attitude (vv.1-6): We need to “arm” ourselves with the same attitude as Christ in enduring unjust suffering so that we will not live for evil human desires, but for the will of God. Have you encountered any suffering recently (whether unjust suffering or suffering in general)? Do not look at yourself as a victim but as a soldier fighting a spiritual battle. Follow the leadership of our captain, Jesus Christ, who endured the suffering even unto death; pray for His empowerment as you face the various challenges ahead of you.

  2. Christlike Service (vv.7-11): In light of the approaching of the end of all things, we are to love and to exercise our gifts to serve one another. What spiritual gift(s) do you possess? Have you been using them or burying them in the ground? Talk to your church leaders or pastors to see how you could start serving in your local church.

  3. Christlike Faith (vv.12-19): Even in the midst of our suffering, we are to rejoice that we participate in the sufferings of Christ, and should commit ourselves to God and continue to do good because God’s judgement would be approaching. How would God’s judgement enable us to rejoice in our suffering and continue to do good? Trust in God’s goodness knowing that He has the best plan for you.

  4. Your own insight: (fill in yourself)

Meditation and Application:

Meditate on the above questions along with the necessary actions. Life is not a straight path, but we have Christ who had gone before us and will lead us through hills and valleys. Hold onto His hands and trust in His leading.
