1 Peter 5
Be alert, the devil is going to get you!
Which part of 1 Peter 5 inspires you the most?
  1. Be An Example: Peter appealed to the elders to be shepherds and examples of God’s flock. Examine your life and see if you have set a good example as a Christian for others. List some areas on which you need to improve, and how?

  2. Be Submissive: Peter admonished the younger ones to submit to the older ones and to learn to be humble, and God would lift them up in due time. What are some of the hindrances you face in learning to be humble? What do you need to do to overcome them?

  3. Be Anxiety Free: We are to cast all our anxieties on the Lord because He cares for us. What anxieties do you have right now? Imagine that you are approaching the throne of grace, picture yourself casting all your anxieties on the Lord. Thank Him for loving and caring for you.

  4. Be Alert: The devil is like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour, and we are to be alert, to stand firm and to resist him. In what way(s) have you found the devil like a roaring lion? Think of practical ways that you could live a more alert life to stand firm and resist him.

  5. Your own insight: (fill in yourself)

Meditation and Application:

Meditate on the above questions along with the necessary actions. Beware of the devil’s schemes in this coming month; he could use hypocrisy, pride, anxiety, and a whole lot more to devour us. Be Alert!
