1 Thessalonians 2
Live a life that pleases God, loves others, and is worthy of God.
Which part of 1 Thessalonians 2 inspires you the most?
  1. Not to Please Man but God: We often fall into the trap of pleasing man, but Paul reminds us that it is God who tests our hearts, thus we should please God instead of man (v.4). In what way(s) have you been pleasing man? How are you going to change that? In addition, what do you need to do in order to please God?

  2. Paul’s Love for the Thessalonians: Paul was gentle among the Thessalonians, like a mother caring for her little children (v.7); and at the same time, like a father, encouraging, comforting and urging them to live lives worthy of God (vv.11-12). Ministry is more than just working hard, but having genuine love for people. Pray that you would have the same compassion as Paul and think of practical ways that you could genuinely care for others.

  3. To Live Lives Worthy of God: Paul urged the Thessalonians to live lives worthy of God. This has been the theme of Paul’s many letters, to encourage Christians to live lives worthy of the grace that they received (Eph. 4:1, Phil. 1:27; Col. 1:10). In what way(s) could you live your life more worthy of God?

  4. Your own insight: (fill in yourself)

Meditation and Application:

Meditate on the questions above along with the necessary actions. Try to develop a closer relationship with the brothers and sisters around you and genuinely care for them.
