1 Thessalonians 3
Don't Let Trials Shake Your Faith, Stand Firm!
Which part of 1 Thessalonians 3 inspires you the most?
“In the first two chapters, Paul explained how the church was born and nurtured. Now he dealt with the next step in maturity: how the church was to stand. The key word in this chapter is establish [‘strengthen’ in NIV] (1 Thes. 3:2,13). The key thought is expressed in 1 Thessalonians 3:8: ‘For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.’"*

Facing Trials: Paul was in distress and persecution (vv.3, 4, 7), and was afraid that trials would shake the faith of the Thessalonians (v.3). What are some of the trials that you may face (or are facing) that would possibly shake your faith? How are you going to deal with them?
-
Standing Firm: Paul sent Timothy to “strengthen” and encourage the Thessalonians in their faith (v.2) and prayed that God would “strengthen” their hearts (v.13). In turn, the Thessalonians were standing firm in the Lord (v.8). Think of practical steps that you could take in order to strengthen your faith.
