1 Timothy 5
People Don't Care How Much You Know Until They Know How Much You Care!
Read 1 Timothy 5. Which part of 1 Timothy 5 inspires you the most?
  1. Care for All People: Paul instructed Timothy to treat various age groups as corresponding members of his own family with absolute purity. What are some of the obstacles that you have to overcome in order to do that (e.g. difficult people, acceptance, forgiveness, patience, etc.)?

  2. Care for Our Family Members: Paul stressed that one had to provide for his relatives and for his immediate family (v.8). Reflect on your relationship with your family members and relatives; is there any tension among you? What are some practical ways that you could deal with these tensions?

  3. Care for Our Church Leaders: Paul instructed Timothy to respect and to care for the elders. Quite often, we expect our leaders to care for us but rarely do we care for our leaders. Commit to pray for your leaders regularly and find ways to appreciate and affirm them (e.g. a thank you note, a word of encouragement, etc.).

  4. Your own insight: (fill in yourself)

Meditation and Application:

Meditate on the above questions along with the necessary actions. Start with drafting a plan to work on the relationship with your immediate family; also, schedule to pray for your church leaders regularly.
