1 Timothy 6
Make money your servant, not your master; lay up your treasure in heaven!
Read 1 Timothy 6. Which part of 1 Timothy 6 inspires you the most?
-
Godliness with Contentment: Paul reminded Timothy that “The love of money is a root of all kinds of evil” (v.10). In what way that money could be a temptation to you? How could you live a life of “godliness with contentment (v.6)?
-
Fight the Good Fight: Paul charged Timothy to “pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness”; and to “fight the good fight of the faith” (vv.11-12). Which of the above virtues do you need to work on/pursue? Why and how?
-
Lay up Eternal Treasure: Paul instructed Timothy to command the rich not to put their hope in wealth but in the Lord, and to do good and be generous. In what ways could you shift your reliance from wealth to God? And how could you practice generosity?
