2 Corinthians 4
Do not lose heart, outward troubles could never defeat inner strength!

Read 2 Corinthians 4. Which part of 2 Corinthians 4 inspired you the most?
  1. The Power of the Dark: The god of this age (Satan) has blinded the minds of unbelievers (v.4). What are some of Satan’s schemes today? Pray for God’s protection over Christians and non-Christians alike; pray that God will open the eyes of the unbelievers so that they will know the Lord. Pick a few of your unbelieving friends and pray for their salvation.

  2. The All-Surpassing Power of the Gospel: We are like unworthy jars of clay with the treasure of the gospel inside us. There is nothing that we should boast about ourselves, except the gospel that brings life. Though we may suffer, this all-surpassing power will sustain us. Commit all your struggles to the Lord, memorize vv.8-10 and use that as a reminder of God’s deliverance.

  3. The Sustaining Power of Eternal Hope: The renewing work of the Holy Spirit and the hope of eternal glory become a sustaining power for Paul to endure his present suffering. Keep in mind that our present troubles are just light and momentary as compared to the eternal glory installed for us. Thank God for His sustaining power during our times of trouble.

  4. Your own insight: (fill in yourself)

Meditation and Application:

Meditate on the above questions along with the necessary actions. Let us not lose heart as we fight against the power of the dark, but rely on the all-surpassing power of the gospel, the renewing work of the Spirit, and the sustaining power of Eternal Hope.
