2 Corinthians 5
How could we live by faith and not by sight? Stop looking and start trusting!

Read 2 Corinthians. Which part of 2 Corinthians 5 inspired you the most?
  1. Brevity of Death: We often mourn over the brevity of life. 2 Cor. 5:4 shows us the brevity of death, “so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life” (v.4). For those who believe in Christ, death is not the end, but everlasting life is. Thank God for His provision of eternal life through the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ.

  2. Living by Faith:  We are often intimidated by what we see — our circumstances; but Paul encouraged us to “live by faith, not by sight” (v.7). What do you see now that may have shaken your faith? Close your eyes to the unfavorable circumstances, hold onto the nail-pierced hand that holds tomorrow, and let Him lead you through the valley of the shadow of death (cf. Ps. 23:4).

  3. Compelled by Love: “For Christ’s love compels us...that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again” (vv.14-15). In what way has God’s love compelled you to live for Him? List out ways that God has demonstrated His love towards you, as well as ways that you could live for Him.

  4. As New Creations: “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” (2 Cor. 5:17) In what way(s) have you been a new creation? What are some of the “old” that has gone, and what are the “new” that has come?

  5. Your own insight: (fill in yourself)

Meditation and Application:

Meditate on the above questions along with the necessary actions. In light of His sacrificial love and the eternal hope, commit to live by faith and not by sight.
