2 Corinthians 7
Catch yourself doing bad but catch others doing good!
Read 2 Corinthians 7. Which part of 2 Corinthians 7 inspired you the most?

Perfecting Holiness: As 2 Cor. 7:1 says, “Let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.” Beware of temptations around you and flee from them. List some of the temptations that you’re facing, ask God to purify your heart and empower you in this spiritual battle.
-
Encouraging Words: Let’s note all the encouraging words that Paul affirmed the Corinthians, “I have great confidence in you; I take great pride in you. I am greatly encouraged” (v.4), “you have proved yourselves to be innocent” (v.11), “you were all obedient” (v.15), “I can have complete confidence in you” (v.16), etc. It is important to “catch people doing good” and to affirm one another. Pick a few people close to you (e.g. family members, coworkers, etc.) and write down some of the areas that you appreciate them along with words of affirmation that you could say to them. Find opportunities to share these thoughts with them.
-
Godly Sorrow: The Corinthians’ repentance did not only bring joy to Paul and Titus, but also their own deliverance (i.e. “salvation” in v.10) and positive qualities in their lives (v.11). It may not be easy to listen to confrontation, but a willingness to listen and to reflect is important. As Ps. 139:23-24 remind us, “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Search your heart to see if there’s any hidden sins that you need to confess before God and to repent.
