2 Thessalonians 2
Beware of all the False Teachings! Stand Firm!
Which part of 2 Thessalonians 2 inspires you the most?
  1. Beware of Wrong Doctrines: Paul asked the Thessalonians not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by false prophecy (v.2). Today, what are some of the prominent false doctrines that you’ve encountered. List a few of them and how you would refute them.

  2. Rely on God’s Power: Paul mentioned three things that must happen before the Day of the Lord: the rebellion (i.e. apostasy, v.3), the reveal of the man of lawlessness (i.e. antichrist, vv.3-4, 8), and the removal of the restrainer (i.e. the Holy Spirit being taken away at Rapture, vv.6-7). Meanwhile, the Holy Spirit is holding back the power of lawlessness; and in the future, Christ will destroy the lawless one (antichrist). So, we can always rely on God to fight against the evil power. Pray for His empowerment as you battle in spiritual warfare every day.

  3. Stand Firm on Right Teachings: Paul exhorted the Thessalonians to stand firm and hold to the teachings that Paul passed on to them (v.15). What are some of the crucial teachings that you find unbendable? Why? How then are you going to practice them?

  4. Your own insight: (fill in yourself)

Meditation and Application:

Meditate on the above questions along with the necessary actions. Beware of the Devil’s schemes in this end time, hold onto God’s words and rely on His power to stand firm.
