2 Thessalonians 3
Jesus could come any time, be Diligent and Persevere!
Which part of 2 Thessalonians 3 inspires you the most?
-
Paul’s Request for Prayer: Paul asked the Thessalonians to pray for the spreading of the gospel and the deliverance from the enemies of the gospel. Likewise, Jesus taught His disciples to first seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matt. 6:33). List a few things that you would pray for God’s kingdom, and pray for these items in this coming week.
-
Paul’s Warning Against Idleness: Some Thessalonians wrongly believed that the Day of the Lord had arrived, and abandoned their work to live off others, thus Paul warned the Thessalonians against idleness and encouraged them to be industrious. In the same way, we should exercise self-discipline and guard ourselves against idleness and laziness. Reflect upon your daily living and see in what way you could improve in your self-discipline.
-
Paul’s Encouragement Regarding Perseverance: Paul encouraged the Thessalonians not to get tire of doing what is right (v.13). What would discourage you from doing what is right (i.e. doing good [ESV])? Pray over those areas and ask God to grant you perseverance in doing good.

Meditation and Application:
Meditate on the above questions along with the necessary actions. Keep in mind that the second coming of the Lord could happen any time, in what way could you prepare for His coming?
