2 Timothy 1
Fan the flame of courageous enthusiasm, shameless testimony, and spiritual faithfulness!
Which part of 2 Timothy 1 inspires you the most?
  1. Courageous Enthusiasm: Paul encouraged Timothy to “fan into flame the gift of God”; and not to have “a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline” (vv.6-7). List some of the challenges you face that would give you a spirit of timidity. Pray for God’s empowerment that you would have the courageous enthusiasm for your faith and His ministries.

  2. Shameless Testimony: Paul exhorted Timothy not to be ashamed of the testimony about the Lord, nor of Paul’s imprisonment (v.8). Have you ever felt “ashamed to testify about our Lord” (v.8)? Why or why not? How would v. 12 help overcome that feeling of shame?

  3. Spiritual Faithfulness: Paul reminded Timothy to guard Paul’s teaching (vv.13-14). We have to be faithful in keeping and in sharing God’s words. Likewise, we need to be aware of the temptation of compromising the truth and the biblical standards (e.g. holiness, purity, honesty, etc.). List some of these temptations that may shake your faith and pray for God’s empowerment and protection.

  4. Your own insight: (fill in yourself)

Meditation and Application:

Meditate on the above questions along with the necessary actions. Beware of fear and “faith-shakers” in your life, and pray for a spirit of power, of love, and of self-discipline.
