Acts 13
Do not be reactive or even passive in our spiritual pursuit, be proactive.

Which part of Acts 13 inspires you the most?
  1. First Missionary Journey — A Proactive Way to Spread the Gospel: At first, the gospel was spread to the gentiles due to the dispersion of the disciples under persecution. However, the sending out of Barnabas and Saul started a new era for the Early Church; instead of being reactive under circumstances, the church at Antioch proactively sent out missionaries to share the Good News. Yes, trials and difficult circumstances often push us closer to God and force us to grow; but don’t just grow under trials, instead take the initiative to draw close to God under all circumstances.

  2. Paul’s Encounter in Cyprus — The Seeker was Blessed and the Wicked was Blinded: Sergius Paulus, the proconsul believed; while Bar-Jesus, the sorcerer was condemned and made blind. God will make Himself known to those who seek Him and judge those who oppose Him. Seek God!

  3. Paul’s witness in Pisidian Antioch — A Recall of the Salvation History: Paul reminded the people of God’s redemptive plan for Israel — from Egypt to the wilderness, from conquest to the judges, from Saul to David, from John the Baptist to Jesus, from prosecution to crucifixion, and from burial to resurrection; Paul explained how the prophecies regarding the Messiah was fulfilled in Jesus. How well and thorough Paul knew the scriptures. Study the Bible and let it change not only our perspectives, but also our lives.

  4. Your own insight: (fill in yourself)
