Acts 16
Listen to the prompting of the Holy Spirit, look at the needs of the world, and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Read Acts 16 (Paul's 2nd Missionary Journey - Philippi). Which part of Acts 16 inspires you the most?
-
The Call from Macedonia: The Holy Spirit forbade Paul and his companions to go to Asia and Bithynia; yet, Paul saw in a vision a man of Macedonia begging him to go over to Macedonia to help them (16:9). Who would be the “Macedonian” in your life? Whom do you need to help?
-
The Imprisonment of Paul: After the conversion of Lydia’s fami7ly and the healing of the demon possessed slave girl, Paul and Silas were arrested, severely beaten, and thrown into prison. Though suffered a great deal physically, they could still pray and sing hymns to God while in prison. It is God who gives “songs in the night” (Job 35:10; Ps. 42:8); when trials come, pray and praise.
-
The Conversion of the Jailer: “What must I do to be saved?” the Philippian jailer asked; and the answer was, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved — you and your household” (16:30-31). How would you answer the same question? Try to figure out a simple way to present the gospel.

Meditation and Application:
Be sensitive to those who need the gospel around you. List out some of your Macedonian; start praying for and reaching out to them.
