Acts 21
Seize every opportunity, at all cost, in any circumstances, be a witness for the Lord.

Read Acts 21 (Paul's 3rd Missionary Journey - Macedonia, Greece, Troas, Miletus). Which part of Acts 21 inspires you the most?
  1. Paul’s Determination: Paul was warned by the disciples at Tyre and the prophet Agabus at Caesarea regarding his imminent arrest in Jerusalem; however, Paul was determined to do God’s will no matter the price — “I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus” (21:13). Determine to follow God’s will at all cost.

  2. Paul’s Submission: Paul was willing to follow the instruction of the Leaders in Jerusalem to participate in a Jewish purification rite (vv.23-26). Such practice should not be a violation of the Christian faith for (a) Paul practiced a similar rite in Acts 18:18; and (b) that was probably still a cultural practice for the early Jewish Christians. Paul’s principle as stated in 1 Cor. 9:20 is, “To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law.” Make effort to reach out to people at where they are.

  3. Paul’s Arrest: Though being treated unfairly and almost murdered, Paul grabbed hold of the opportunity to share his testimony. Grab hold of every opportunity to be God’s witness.

  4. Your own insight: (fill in yourself)

Meditation and Application:

Consider some of the needs or expectations of your non-Christian friends and family members. In what way could you meet their needs or fulfill their expectations without violating your Christian principles, in order that you could be a more effective witness for the Lord?
