Acts 24
Be bold in sharing our faith, the power lies not on our words but His.
Read Acts 24. Which part of Acts 24 inspires you the most?
  1. Paul’s Charges: (a) a worldwide troublemaker, stirring up riots everywhere (v.5); (b) a leader of an illegal religion — the Nazarene sect (v.5); and (c) attempted to desecrate the temple (v.6). How would you feel if you were wrongly accused? Remember God’s promise, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay” (Rom. 12:19). Commit these misunderstands or accusations to the Lord and trust in His goodness to resolve these situations.

  2. Paul’s Defense: (a) he had not been in Jerusalem long enough (only 12 days) to instigate a riot  (v.11) and did not even argue with anyone or stir up a crowd (v.12); (b) his belief was in sync with the Law and Prophets (vv..14-15), not an illegitimate sect, but the Way with which even Felix was well acquainted (v.22); (c) he did not desecrate the temple but went to Jerusalem to worship, to bring money to the Jews, and to present offerings (v.17); and (d) his original accusers were not present to bring charges (vv.19-20). Maintained a clear conscience as Paul (24:16); when accused, examine your heart and see if there is any offensive way in you (cf. Ps. 139:24).

  3. Paul’s Impact: Even Felix, the governor, was convicted when he sent for Paul and listened to his teaching (vv.24-25). Be bold in sharing our faith, the power is not in us but in His Word. Pray for wisdom and boldness, as well as opportunities that you could testify for the Lord.

  4. Your own insight: (fill in yourself)

Meditation and Application:

Recall some of the incidents that you may have been misunderstood or wrongly accused; pray and search your heart to see if there are areas that you might have contributed to such misunderstanding. Seek ways to mend the relationship.
