Acts 9
Live out God’s plan and impact lives like Ananias, Barnabas, Paul, and Peter.
Read Acts 9. Which part of Acts 9 inspires you the most?
-
Saul’s Conversion: See how God worked through two individuals — Saul and Ananias, to transform a “persecutor” to a “proclaimer” of the gospel. Please note that Ananias did not appear elsewhere in the Bible, but his involvement in God’s plan in the conversion of Saul impacted the whole world. Don’t think lightly of yourselves, as long as we’re fulfilling God’s plan in our lives; whether a Saul or an Ananias, God will use us mightily. Thank God for all the opportunities, whether big or small, that God has given you to touch lives.
-
Saul’s Early Ministry: Another important person in Paul’s life is Barnabas. Just like his name (son of encouragement), Barnabas had always been an encourager. When other disciples were afraid of Saul, Barnabas took him and brought him to the Apostles (9:26-27), and later served together with him. Observe and see who around you may need encouragement; try lending a helping hand to them and be an encourager like Barnabas.
-
Peter’s Ministries: Peter healed Aeneas (vv.32-35) and restored Dorcas to life (vv.36-43). Both events led to the same result, many people believing in the Lord (vv.35, 43). During the early church, God often used signs and miracles to demonstrate His power; and today, He is doing the same thing through the transformation of believers’ lives. Examine your life and see in what way that your life could be a demonstration of God’s power to draw people to Him.
