Colossians 3
The supremacy of Christ should lead us into our submission to Christ; our heavenly position should govern our earthly practice. Behave as we believe!
Which part of Colossians 3 inspires you the most?

In Colossians 3, Paul reminded the Colossians that they were to seek spiritual values (3:1-4), to put off the sins of the old life (3:5-11), and to put on the virtues of the new life (3:12-17). This in turn should affect their relationships with other members of their families and society (3:18-4:1).*

  1. Set Your Heart and Mind on Things Above (vv.1-4): Our desires and our concerns should be focused on the eternal and not the temporal. What are some of the things that have eternal values which you should desire and concern about?

  2. Put off the Sins of the Old Life (vv.5-9): Out of the evil activities of immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires, and greed; and the repulsive habits of anger, rage, malice, slander, filthy language, and lying; what do you need to put off and how? Besides the list above, what else do you need to put off and how?

  3. Put on the Virtues of the New Life (vv.10-17): Out of the virtues of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, forbearance, forgiveness, love, peace, thankfulness, harmony, gratitude, etc.; what do you need to put on, and how?

  4. Attitudes in a Family (vv.18-25): What do you need to do in order to improve your relationship with your family members?

  5. Your own insight: (fill in yourself)

Meditation and Application:
