Hebrews 3
No man is an island, encourage and uplift one another lest you fall!
Read through Hebrews 3. Which part of Hebrews 3 inspires you the most?

Note: “Next to Abraham, Moses was undoubtedly the man most greatly revered by the Jewish people. To go back to the Law meant to go back to Moses, and the recipients of this Letter to the Hebrews were sorely tempted to do just that. It was important that the writer convince his readers that Jesus Christ is greater than Moses, for the entire system of Jewish religion came through Moses.”*

  1. Jesus is Greater than Moses: Moses was faithful as a servant in God’s house, but Jesus is faithful as a son over God’s house; thus is worthy of greater honor than Moses. Try to find out in what other ways that Jesus was greater than Moses from the passage. What could you learn from that?

  2. Learn from the Past: The author encouraged the readers to learn from the failure of the Israelites and not to harden their hearts. Examine your life and see in what areas that you are most vulnerable. How then could you grow in those areas and avoid making similar mistakes in the future.

  3. Grab Hold of Today: The author quoted from Ps. 95:7-8 to encourage the readers not to harden their hearts, and the application is on how they could encourage one another daily so that they might not be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness (vv.13-15). Accountability is a necessity in our Christian walk. Look for someone with whom you could establish such accountability. Set up a goal for the group and schedule to meet periodically to provide supports and accountability (either in person, over the phone, or through the internet).

  4. Your own insight: (fill in yourself)

Meditation and Application:

Meditate on the above questions along with the necessary actions.
