James 2
Faith without action is dead. Live out your faith!
Which part of James 2 inspires you the most?
NOTE: "We are not saved by deeds; we are saved for deeds; these are the twin truths of the Christian life. And Paul's whole emphasis is on the first truth, and James's whole emphasis is on the second truth."*
-
Favoritism Forbidden: James reminds us not to show favoritism but to love our neighbor as ourselves. In what way have you shown favoritism either in attitudes or in actions? How could you apply the principles that you learn from James 2?
-
Faith and Action: Faith has to be accompanied by actions. How have you found living out your faith difficult? How then could you balance faith and deeds?
-
The Royal Law: Do you find it hard to “Love your neighbor as yourself” (v.8)? Why or why not? Think of some of the unlovable people around you, how could you start showing your love towards them in a practical way?
- Your own insight: (fill in yourself)
Meditation and Application:
Meditate on the above questions along with the necessary actions. Focus on how you could live out your faith in the coming weeks.
