Stand Firm on God's Words!
Read Jude Which part of Jude inspires you the most?
  1. Contend for the Faith: Jude urged his readers to contend for their faith since godless and deceitful abusers of God’s grace had secretly slipped in among them, denying Jesus Christ. Are you ready and equipped to contend for your faith? Why or why not? Draft a concrete plan to equip yourself in the coming year (you could discuss with your pastors or church leaders regarding joining your church’s training programs or Sunday School. You may also need to set aside time for your daily devotion, or enroll in a Bible reading program or in free online Seminary courses [e.g. “How to Read the Bible Like a Seminary Professor,” “Can You Trust the Bible,” or other Bible courses by Dallas Theological seminary. Go to https://courses.dts.edu/ to get more information or to enroll].

  2. Learn from the Past: Jude used examples of the past failures of the Israelites, of the fallen angels, of Sodom and Gomorrah, of Cain, of Balaam, and of Korah, to warn his readers against apostasy. What can you learn from your own past failures or from the failures of others? How would you avoid falling into similar traps?

  3. Build Yourself Up: Finally, Jude reminded his readers to remember God’s words; to revive in faith, in hope, in love, and in their prayer life; and to reach out to save others. Which of these areas do you need to work on? How?

  4. Your own insight: (fill in yourself)

Meditation and Application: Meditate on the above questions along with the necessary actions. Focus on how you could build yourself up in faith, in hope, in love, and in your prayer life in this coming year.
