Philippians 4
Pray and God will take your anxiety away!
Which part of Philippians 4 inspires you the most?
-
Past success does not safeguard future failure: Euodia and Syntyche were both loyal co-workers with Paul; however, they got into disagreement and caused division. Reflect upon your life and list out some of your blind spots.
-
Prayer alleviates anxiety and instill joy: Paul exhorted the Philippians to rejoice for when they present all their requests to the Lord through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, God would grant them peace (vv.6-7). List down your worries and anxieties; pray over every one of them, and ask God to grant you peace which transcends all understanding.
-
Proper thinking and worthy living lead to a blessed life: Paul asked the Philippians to think of worthy thoughts and practice what they had learned, and God would be with them. Pick a couple of qualities listed in v.8 to meditate over the coming week(s), and see how you could put these qualities into practice.
-
Power of God enables contentment: Paul expressed that he learned to be “content in any and every situation” (v.12), for he could do everything through God who gave him strength (v.13). What in your life right now would cause you discontentment? Pray over v.13 for His strength to help you overcome discontentment and hardships in your life.
