Revelation 11
God evaluates His people, empowers His witnesses, and deserves our worship.
Read Revelation 11. Which part of Revelation 11 inspired you the most?
  1. God Evaluates His People: John’s measuring of the temple and of the worshipers signifies God’s evaluation on them. Though the passage refers to a literal temple and God’s people during the Great Tribulation, the principle that God does evaluate His people could be applied to us. Imagine God measuring you during this time, what would your report card look like? What are some of the areas that you may need to work on? How? Please be specific.

  2. God Empowers His Witnesses: The two witnesses are described as olive trees and lampstands, which in Zechariah 4, represented "Zerubbabel" and "Joshua," who sought to restore Israel after a previous exile (Zech. 4:2, 3, 11-14). The same images are used probably to represent their empowerment by the Holy Spirit. Though we do not have the supernatural power to perform miracles as the two witnesses, we too are empowered by the Holy Spirit. As Paul says in 2 Cor. 12:9, “But [Christ] said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Reflect upon the situation that you are in and see in what way(s) that you would need God’s grace and His power.

  3. God Deserves Our Worship: The Lord God Almighty will judge the world and reward His servants, and He will reign forever and ever. The whole universe, even angelic beings and the 24 elders worship the Lord day and night in heaven, how much more we should have reverence toward the Lord and worship Him. Take some time to reflect upon the ways how you worship in the past month(s) and try listing down some areas that you could improve (e.g. preparation, attitude, participation, etc.). Try to implement these changes in the coming month.

  4. Your own insight: (fill in yourself)

Meditation and Application:

Meditate on the above questions along with the necessary actions. Focus on areas that you will need to improve in the coming month, try to draft out a plan and implement it.
