• 12:1-2 A Woman = Israel (Gen. 37:9-10)

• 12:3-4 An Enormous Red Dragon = Satan (Dan. 7:7, 24)

• 12:5-6 A Male Child = Jesus (Ps. 2:9; Rev. 19:15)

• 12:17  Rest of the woman's off-spring = The remnant of Israel or those who accepted Christ during the Great Tribulation

1. The War is Real: Though Satan lost his war in heaven, he will continue his attack on earth (vv.7-9, 12, 17). We need to beware of his schemes and temptations. List some of Satan’s attacks in your life and pray for God’s empowerment and protection. Remind yourself to fight a good fight for the spiritual warfare is real.

2. We can Overcome: We are on the winning side; by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony, we could overcome the Devil (vv.10-11). Just as God will deliver His people during the time of the Great Tribulation (vv.13-16), He will deliver us when we are tempted (cf. “No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.” 1 Cor. 10:13-14). Reflect upon the temptations that you have faced, how has God been providing a way out for you (whether you chose to go His way or not)? Remind yourself that there is always a way out...never give up, never give in!
