Romans 11
“God’s gifts and His call are irrevocable.” Thank God for His persistent love; yet, don’t take His grace for granted.
Read Romans 11. Which part of Romans 11 inspires you the most?
Note: The passage is not talking about individual salvation but God’s election. Paul is not saying that a believer could lose his salvation, for he uses the singular “you” to describe Gentile believers as one whole group in contrast with the Jewish believers (vv. 17-24). Paul's point is: if God set aside Jews temporarily, because of their unbelief, He could do the same with Gentiles (in general) if they turn away from the gospel.

God’s Persistent Love on Israel: “God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable...that they too may now receive mercy...so that he may have mercy on them all.” (vv.30-32). The focus of the passage is on God’s mercy on His people, both Gentiles and Jews. Recall how God has mercy on you despite your disobedience, and thank God for His persistent love on you.

God’s Wisdom and Knowledge: “Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!” (11:33) There are just too many things that we could not understand about God, may those not be a hindrance of our faith but a motivation for us to seek His will, to know Him more, and to submit to His sovereign plan. Draft a plan to have regular unhurried time with God.

Meditation and Application:
Meditate to see if you have fallen into the trap of “Spiritual Pride” that Paul has mentioned regarding the Gentile believers. If so, confess before the Lord and commit to draw close to God and only boast in the Lord.
