Romans 16
Be wise in what is good, and innocent in evil.
Read Romans 16. Which part of Romans 16 inspires you the most?
-
Paul’s Allies: On Paul’s list of personal greetings, he had people who helped him, risked their lives for him, imprisoned with him, were loved by him, served with him, nurtured him, etc. Christians, and especially Christian leaders, cannot be Lone Rangers; no matter how capable one is, he/she will need supports from others (spiritually, emotionally, ministerially, and physically). Think of how you could be a support to your pastor(s), elders, and spiritual leaders. Offer your help and prayer supports to them.
-
Paul’s Enemies: We need to be aware of false teachers and those who are divisive. However, be confident that we will have the ultimate victory (16:20), and may we “be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil” (16:19). What are some of the good things, as well as evil things that you encounter recently? What practical ways could you make yourself “wise” and “innocent”?

Pick a few leaders whom you would like to support (i.e. pastors, elders, etc.), ask them for prayer requests and practical ways that you could support them. Pray regularly for them and see if you or other brothers and sisters could assist them in any way.

Recite 2 Timothy 2:22: “Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.” List down some of the temptations that you’re facing now, and see how you could flee the evil desires and pursue godliness.
