1. The Promise of the Holy Spirit: The moment we accept Christ, the Holy Spirit dwells in us. Not only that we possess the Holy Spirit, but we also need to let the Holy Spirit possess us and to live according to the Holy Spirit. Be sensitive to the prompting and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

2. The Hope of the Future Glory: As we compare the present sufferings with our future glory, along with the intercession of the Holy Spirit, we could have patience to endure the present frustration. Have confidence in the sustaining power of the Spirit and the promise of the glorious freedom of the children of God.

3. The Inseparable Love of God: Nothing could separate us from the love of God and all things work together for good for those who love God. Hold onto His promise and we could be more than conquerors in all our struggles.

Meditation and Application:

Romans 8 is filled with precious promises of God, meditate on and recite the following verses in the coming week:

• 8:26 — In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.

• 8:28 — And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
