Titus 2
Saved by Grace, Better Behave!
Which part of Titus 2 inspires you the most?
  1. Godly Behaviors:

  • Older men — Temperate; Worthy of Respect; Self-Controlled; Sound in Faith, in Love, and in Endurance.

  • Older Women — Reverent, Not to be Slanderers, Not Addicted to Wine, Teach What is Good, and Train Younger Women.

  • Young Women — Love Husbands, Love Children, Self-Controlled, Pure, Busy at Home, Kind, and Subject to Husbands.

  • Young men — Self-Controlled

  • Titus — Set Example in Good Works; Show Integrity, Seriousness, and Soundness of Speech.

  • Slaves — Subject to Masters, Please Them, Not to Talk Back, Not to Steal, Can be Trusted.

Out of the above various behaviors, pick three that you need to work on and improve (regardless of the age group). Why these three and what do you plan to do?

   2.  Role of Grace:

  • Grace Redeemed Us (vv.11, 14a) — It’s by grace through faith that we’ve been saved (cf. Eph. 2:8).

  • Grace Reformed Us — “Grace...teaches us to [deny] ungodliness and worldly passion, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives”; and purifies us and makes us God’s possession ( vv.12, 14b).

  • Grace Rewards Us — Grace enables us to have a blessed hope to wait for the glorious appearing of our Lord (v.13).

Reflect upon how grace has touched and even transformed your life. Try writing down some of these “encounters with grace,” and thank God for such experiences.

   3.  Your own insight: (fill in yourself)

Meditation and Application:

Meditate on the above questions along with the necessary actions. Pray for and start working on the three behaviors that you would like to improve.
